You will provide US Weather Insurance with the dates you would like to run your sale, pick the type of weather condition you would like your rebate to be dependent on (snow or temperature), the date you want it to happen (i.e. Christmas Day, New Year’s Day), provide the estimated sales volume for the promotion dates and finally the zip code of your store location where the weather will be measured. The rate of the insurance will be calculated based on these factors and is usually around 1%-4% of the sales volume. Half of the premium is due up front and the remainder is due after the final sales volume is calculated.
An Example:
Say you want to run a sale starting now until your store closes on Christmas Eve, you would advertise to your customers that any purchases made between now and then will be fully refunded if it snows on New Year’s Day. There is no better way to increase traffic to your location than offering the possibility that all purchases will be FREE if it snows on New Year’s Day.
